The History of BT Construction
Jacob Mozer, the owner of BT Construction, grew up in a family where his mother had a passion for designing homes, and his father and siblings would be responsible for building them. This early exposure to construction sparked Jacob’s interest in the industry. Following high school, he worked for a local concrete contractor before pursuing carpentry, in which he gained experience working in various roles such as laborer, carpenter, foreman, superintendent, project manager, and field project engineer.
Drawing upon his extensive knowledge of the construction industry, Jacob identified areas that could be improved upon. Together with his wife, Laura, who possesses a background in HR and management, they founded BT Construction with the aim of introducing innovative construction techniques and practices to Montana’s construction industry.
BT Construction has undertaken a diverse range of projects, from taking over incomplete builds to delivering full custom builds, remodels, and additions. Throughout their workload, they identified a shortage of framing-specific contractors as the most challenging scope to cover. Utilizing his expertise in production framing, Jacob shifted a considerable portion of the company’s focus towards framing.
Within a year of this shift in focus, BT Construction secured framing contracts that filled their schedule for the following year. The company continued to expand its scope by incorporating automation and innovation, which significantly improved production and build efficiency within the area industry. To address the shortage of framing-specific contractors, Jacob and Laura established BT Wall Systems, a company that designs and pre-builds wall systems for delivery to other contractors, offering installation services as well. A state-of-the-art facility is currently under construction, with plans for completion in the fall of 2023, to enhance the production of pre-built wall systems. This innovative solution offers numerous benefits, such as improving accuracy, reducing material waste, and increasing build efficiency.
